Premium rates set for RMP livestock plans - Monday, February 20, 2012
For livestock producers who are thinking about their risk management options for 2012, premium rates are now set for the new Risk Management Program (RMP). Three coverage levels are available for the cattle, hog, sheep and veal plans. OFA plans bigger moves to reform OSPCA Act (2011) - Friday, December 16, 2011
Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) has advocated for changes to the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) Act for several years. The issue has not gone away and with increased concerns from Ontario farmers, OFA is putting a bigger push on collaborating with industry to move this issue to the front burner with politicians.

Representatives from the Ontario Federation of Agriculture and its partners have provided input into the development of the guide to ensure that questions from the farming community have been addressed. Crops and Creeks Huron - Friday, July 29, 2011

The Huron County Federation of Agriculture (HCFA) and ABCA were successful, late in 2010, in an application to examine the environmental effectiveness and economic costs and benefits of agricultural best management practices (BMPs).

This project, Crops and Creeks Huron, is one of two watershed-based evaluation projects that the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) is helping to fund in Ontario.
